DroneFest is a family friendly event where we educate, build, and fly multirotor helicopters, also known as drones.
The Ottawa Cup Race is a classic race event. The only difference is that it is flown in a First Person View (FPV).
There will be two designated areas for getting your hands on a drone and learning how to fly from an experienced pilot.
There will be a BBQ available with great eats that won’t break the bank as well as a shuttle from Makerspace North.
The Ottawa Cup is a classic race event. The only difference is that it is flown in a First Person View (FPV). Pilots wear goggles or look at a screen showing a live stream of what the drone sees via its camera feed instead of looking at the drone itself. Requiring skill, precision, and a strong stomach, FPV is quickly becoming the standard for racing.Register
Learn to fly in our netted tent. There our pilots can teach you the basics out on a micro drone that’s safely inside a netted area. There’s also a field where you can try out the bigger and badder X5. Our skilled pilots will walk you through the basics of controlling the fast but forgiving Syma X5. You be surprised how easy it is!Register
